AMD-ATI (or rather, just AMD now), announce “Fusion”. The gist of this is that it’s a CPU and a GPU on a single chip. This should be great for desktops using 3D, and requiring hardware acceleration (I might look into installing Beryl), and for media center PC’s. Hence I’m quite interested in this news.
I have previously favoured nVidia for graphics, but if this Fusion takes off, maybe I’ll reconsider. Especially if ATI AMD offer adequate Linux driver support.
